Evangelism
As Christians our first and foremost duty is to worship God, then we are to build up other Christians in the faith and to give the gospel to those who do not know Christ as Savior. We believe that it is our responsibility to challenging all people with the claims of the gospel and to urge them to repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Some wrongly assume that Reformed churches do not have a heart for evangelism. First, this is assumed because we do not follow the same tactics as other churches. The reason for this is because we believe that much of what passes for evangelism today suggests that becoming a Christian is just a simple matter of praying a few words. Secondly, many conclude that we are not evangelistic because they have a misconception of our theology. We believe that the Bible teaches that God must draw sinners to Himself and that without that drawing no one can come to a saving knowledge of Christ. Yet we realize that God uses a means in which this is carried out. We believe the Scriptures when they say that “it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.” 1 Cor. 1:21. For this reason we try to encourage others to come to church with us. We love to see non-believers in our midst during worship, and our prayer is that they will be convicted by the preaching of God’s law and drawn to Christ by the preaching of the gospel.
