Preaching
Preaching is at the very center of our worship. We believe that the preaching of Bible is the primary means that God has ordained to call lost sinners to Himself (Romans 10:14-15) and is the means by which Christians grow in biblical truth (II Timothy 4:1-4). Preaching is the primary duty of our pastor, and the membership is to cultivate the skill of listening so that they may be best benefited.
We preach the entire counsel of God, we do not avoid the difficult passages. We strive to adhere to four main criteria in our preaching at WRBA. We believe that preaching must first of all be biblical. The pastor is not to be an entertainer but is to set before the people the truth of God’s word. Secondly, we believe that preaching should be expository taking one text and carefully explaining it to the congregation. Thirdly, we believe that primarily the preaching should be verse-by-verse, consecutively through a passage of the Bible. However, we are not absolutely confined to this approach and we will on occasionally for various reasons preach a standalone sermon. Fourthly, we believe that preaching must have application. Sermons must always challenged the listener to think and also to act upon what he heard.
