Preaching

MyPics_020Preaching is at the very center of our worship. We believe that the preaching of Bible is the primary means that God ordained in calling lost sinners to Himself (Romans 10:14-15). We also believe that preaching is the means by which Christians become grounded in biblical truth (2 Timothy 4:1-4). Therefore, preaching is the primary duty of our pastor, we encourage our membership to cultivate the ability to listen so that they may best benefit from the preaching and teaching of God’s word.
We have four main criteria in our preaching at WRBA.  First, we believe that preaching must be biblical. The pastor is not to entertain but is to enlighten and to set the truth of God’s word before the people. Secondly, we believe that preaching should be expository in nature, taking one text and carefully explaining it to the congregation. Thirdly, we believe that preaching should primarily be verse-by-verse, going consecutively through a passage of the Bible. However, we are not absolutely restricted to this approach and from time to time we will preach a standalone sermon. Fourthly, we believe that preaching must not only inform the intellect but must challenged the listener to think and also to act upon what they have heard.
