Evangelism

As Christians we are to worship God, build up other believers in the faith and proclaim the gospel to those who do not know Christ as Savior. We believe that it is our responsibility to challenge all people with the claims of the gospel and to urge them to repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Often time people wrongly assume that Reformed churches do not have a heart for evangelism this is the result of two basic misunderstandings. First, this is assumed because we do not follow the same tactics as other churches. The reason for this is because we believe that much of what passes for evangelism today suggests that becoming a Christian is just a simple matter of praying a few words. Secondly, some conclude that we are not evangelistic because they have a misconception of our theology. We believe that the Bible teaches that God must draw sinners to Himself and that without that drawing no one can come to a saving knowledge of Christ. Yet we realize that God uses a means in which this is carried out. We believe the Scriptures when they say that “it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.” 1 Cor. 1:211 Cor. 1:21
