Five Solas
WE believe the Scriptures alone (Sola Scriptura) are the sole source of written divine revelation. The Bible alone teaches all that is necessary for salvation from sin and is the standard by which all Christian behavior must be measured. Self-improvement, self-esteem or self-fulfillment cannot become alternatives to the gospel or its teachings.
WE believe that it is by grace alone (Sola Gratia) that we are saved from God’s wrath. Salvation is a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit that releases us from bondage to sin and raises us from spiritual death to spiritual life. Salvation is not in any sense a human work, nor is faith a product of our unregenerate human nature.
WE believe we are justified by faith alone,( Sola Fide) because of Christ alone. It is only through the imputed righteousness of Christ that God’s perfect justice is satisfied. Justification is not based upon any merit found in us.
WE believe that Christ alone (Solus Christus), accomplished our salvation by His sinless life and substitutionary atonement. His work alone accomplished our justification and reconciliation to the Father.
WE believe glory must go to God alone(Soli Deo Gloria), because salvation is wholly of God. We must seek to glorify him both in the church and in our individual lives.
